Schedule AppointmentFrequently Asked Questions
Helpful Answers Before You Schedule
Find answers to common questions about services, appointments, medication, insurance, telehealth, and patient policies.
What services do you offer?
Holistic Behavioral Health offers psychiatric evaluations, medication management, ADHD testing, GeneSight testing, Spravato therapy, telehealth appointments, and support for a wide range of mental health concerns.
Do you prescribe medication?
Yes. When clinically appropriate, medications may be prescribed and sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. Your provider will review your symptoms, history, and treatment goals before making medication recommendations.
How do medication refills work?
Medication refill requests are reviewed by your provider and are typically available for established patients with an active treatment plan. Refills may require a follow-up appointment, especially if symptoms have changed or it has been a while since your last visit.
What if I miss an appointment?
If you miss an appointment, please contact the office as soon as possible to reschedule. Missed appointments may be subject to the clinic’s cancellation or no-show policy.
What if I need to reschedule my appointment?
Appointments can be rescheduled online or by contacting the office. There is no charge when appointments are rescheduled within the required notice period.
How long are appointments?
Initial evaluations are typically longer because your provider will review your symptoms, history, medications, and treatment goals. Follow-up appointments are usually shorter and focus on progress, medication response, side effects, and next steps.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled at least 48 hours in advance. Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice or missed without notice may be subject to a cancellation or no-show fee.
What if I cancel less than 48 hours before my appointment?
Patients may be charged if they cancel less than 48 hours before their appointment or do not show up for a scheduled visit. Exceptions may be reviewed by the office when appropriate, such as hospitalization or emergency circumstances.
Are you a therapist? What is the difference between psychiatry and counseling?
Psychiatry focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and treating mental health conditions, which may include medication management. Counseling or therapy focuses more on talk-based support, coping skills, behavioral strategies, and emotional processing. Some patients benefit from both psychiatry and therapy.
Do you accept insurance?
Holistic Behavioral Health accepts select insurance plans. Coverage can vary by provider, service, and plan, so patients are encouraged to contact the office before scheduling to confirm benefits. Self-pay options may also be available.
What if my insurance is not accepted?
If your insurance is not accepted, the office can provide information about self-pay options. When applicable, a statement or receipt may be provided for patients who wish to submit a claim to their insurance plan for possible reimbursement.
What is a telehealth appointment?
A telehealth appointment allows you to meet with your provider remotely through a secure video platform. It offers convenient access to mental health care from a private location using a phone, tablet, or computer.
Do you see patients virtually?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are available for eligible patients by appointment only. Some services or clinical situations may require an in-person visit, depending on provider recommendation and patient needs.
Are telehealth video appointments HIPAA compliant?
Yes. Telehealth appointments are completed through secure video platforms designed to support patient privacy. Patients should also join visits from a private, safe location to help protect confidentiality.
Can a child attend the appointment alone?
No. A parent or legal guardian should attend appointments for children and teens ages 6–17. This helps the provider gather accurate information, review treatment recommendations, and support safe care planning.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Please bring a valid photo ID, insurance information if applicable, a list of current medications, and any questions or concerns you would like to discuss. New patient forms should also be completed before your visit.
Can I choose my provider?
Patients may request a preferred provider when scheduling. Availability may vary based on provider schedule, service type, state availability, insurance, and appointment needs.
Who should I contact if I have questions?
Please contact the office by phone or text for questions about scheduling, forms, insurance, telehealth access, medication refills, or appointment instructions.
